RIDES functions itself as to gather experts and scientists for research, application and provision of scientific and technological services on environment, natural disasters, climate change and water resource development for the sake of sustainable socio-economic development.
II. Tasks
1/ Scienctific and technological research and application to identify the causes and solutions to mitigate risks of natural disasters, climate change and environmental disasters.
    Development of technologies and equipment to measure, observe and handle environment issues and disasters.
2/ Provision of scientific and technological services, including consulting services on establishment, review and criticism on strategies and plans related to natural disasters, climate change and the environment.
    Conduct of surveys, assessments, data analysis on natural resources and the environment.
    On project management and water resources development.
    On the implementation of the New Countryside Program, coping with climate change.
    On organization of trainings, seminars, conferences and  information sharing about disaster prevention, in response to climate change and environmental protection.
3/ Cooperation with local and international organizations or individuals in the above mentioned areas.
